Bryan, Riva and Erica are getting ready for bed, as tomorrow they'll be leaving..... on a jet plane... don't know when they'll be back again (picture my terrible voice belting John Denver).
It's been an amazing two weeks. We went to Taormina and Siracusa, Sicily, taking in the Greek ruins and breathtaking views, while sampling vino and fromaggi. We tasted canoles, bonbons and biscuits at every pasticciera, bought leather bags and colorful ceramiche, laughed loudly at every restaurant and tested every form of public transport - think stinky buses, packed trains and pleasant funiculares.
My brave and well-traveled friends adventurously walked into shops and delis, buying fresh cheese, meats and desserts like locals. Bryan - the world's most amazing chef - used fresh ingredients to make us some delicious meals, all while reminding me to take advantage of the lemons, oranges, rosemary and fennel that grow all around Italy. I laughed so hard every day, then when we finished traveling, we of course had to reenact all of our adventures for Will, my hard-working busy bee.
How we'll miss them!
P.S: check out our little movie to the left (by onetruemedia). Pictures featured - taken by Erica and Bob- are from Pompeii, Ravello, Siracusa, Capri, "Family Nest" restaurant and from our home in Monte Di Procida.
